Evenheat Hot Box
This handy little kiln is a "gotta have" for any studio, be it personal or business.
Compatibility testing, color tests, small design elements, jewelry, seminars, you name it. It can even anneal.
The point is, this kiln should be included in your tool and sales arsenals. Stock equipped with a
manually controlled infinite switch and pyrometer. The Hot Box is designed to operate on a standard 120V outlet!!

Box is now available with a built-in viewing window. No guessing, no peeking, no prying. Just watch the magic through the
2"x4" viewing window. All four corners of the firing chamber are visible giving you full view of
your glass as it gets worked by the heat.

Control Options
The Hot Box is equipped with an infinite switch temperature control
and a pyrometer. The infinite switch works much the
same as a stove switch in that it allows the user to set the heat from
a low position to a high position and everywhere in between. Hence the
name "Infinite". This switch offers much more control than standard
"Low-Medium-High" switch which only offers three heat settings.
A Pyrometer is like a high temperature version of the thermometer.
Connected to the pyrometer is a thermocouple. This thermocouple is the temperature sensor. It is
inserted into the firing chamber. The thermocouple produces a very low voltage which changes depending upon the temperature
seen at the tip of the thermocouple. This voltage is applied to the pyrometer which reacts
by moving or deflecting the needle or changing the digital display.

Voltage and Phase Considerations:
The Hot Box is designed to work from a typical 120V household receptacle. 12A, 1440W.
Suitability:
All glass related firing up to 1800°F (982°C), such as painting, fusing,
slumping, Pate de Verre, etc.. The Hot Box is very useful for testing compatibility and seminar use.
Every glass artist should have at least one of these in their studio.
It should also be noted at this point, that the Hot Box is designed to
fire a single layer or shelf. It's just too darn small to try more
than one! Attempting to fire glass below the top shelf is likely to
lead to frustration and disappointment. So.....one shelf only.
