Stick your head in any glass studio and you are likely to see this kiln. Look closer and you'll see that it's being worked hard. The GTS 23 Series has become the "studio standard". It offers a size that just seems to fit the needs of most artists and studio owners. Small pieces can be loaded in volume, while relatively large pieces can be created also. The GTS 23 Series excels at fusing, slumping, painting and Pate de Verre. It can be used for annealing if desired.

These GTS 23 series are equipped with the Rampmaster II, a fully programmable, automatic temperature controller capable of controlling all ramping and temperature hold functions.

The GTS23 comes in two depths, GTS23-9 (9" deep) and the GTS23-13 (13.5" deep) (shown)

Control Options

Develop your own firing programs using the Ramp Mode Programming Feature. You determine How Fast, to What Temp and for How Long. The RampMaster II gives you this power and more. Program the perfect fusing and annealing profile or that one-of-a-kind specialty glaze firing using the Ramp Mode Programming feature. This is absolutely perfect for glass firing.

Ramp Mode Programming offers six individual programs, the contents of which, are defined by you, the user. Each of the six programs allows for up to eight firing segments. A segment is simply a grouping of: rate of temperature increase or decrease, a set point temperature and soak, if desired. So, get busy and develop that special firing program. The RampMaster II can do the work!!

Delay the actual start time of the firing using the Delay Start feature. This is great when electrical rates are lower at different times of the day or when it's just too darn hot to fire a kiln.

GTS23-9 - 23.5" diameter x 9" deep  (60cm long x 23cm deep)

GTS23-13 - 23.5" diameter x 13.5" deep  (60cm long x 34cm deep)

Voltage and Phase Considerations:

The GTS 23 series is designed to work from a 240V household receptacle 30A, 7200W.

Suitability:

The GTS 23 series is capable of all glass related firing up to 1800°F (982°C), such as painting, fusing, slumping, and Pate de Verre. While it can be used for annealing purposes, the GT14-6 is better suited for that purpose.

It should also be noted at this point, that the GTS 23 series is designed to fire a single layer or shelf. The nature of the GTS 23 series is to provide heat from the lid elements directly to the shelf containing the glass. Attempting to fire glass below the top shelf is likely to lead to frustration and disappointment. So.....one shelf only. 

The GTS 23 series is not really designed to fire Ceramic, Porcelain, Pottery, China or other "ceramic" related materials.
